Baybay City, Leyte – ATI RTC 8 continues to promote the Institute’s e-learning program. This is a form of distance education where registered users can access online certificate courses and digital learning resources such as technology kits, video clips, and mini-tutorials. All these are available at the e-Learning portal (www.e-extension.gov.ph/elearning).

As ATI RTC 8 is inside the campus of the Visayas State University, it aims to promote e-learning among VSU faculty and students. The Center was able to ink a Memorandum of Understanding VSU - Department of Business and Management. Thru the MOU, the Agribusiness students from Visayas State University (VSU) are encouraged to enroll in ATI’s e-Learning program.

To boost the students’ interest and learning, an Agri-galing sa e-Learning Quiz Bee was conducted on October 26, 2022 at the Center for Continuing Education (CCE), VSU, Baybay City.

Seven (7) teams composed of Agribusiness students who were enrolled in e-Learning courses participated in the Quiz Bee competition. Questions were taken from the e-Learning courses particularly the following: Changing People's Lives Through Effective Extension Delivery,  Lika! Usap Tayo: Effective Human Communication and Human Relations,  Getting the Big Bucks: Guide to Grant Proposal Writing, Product Costing Made Easy and Basic Agricultural Marketing Extension. These courses were also complementary to the BS in Agribusiness curriculum.

Mr. Daniel Aragon, President, Society of Agribusiness Students, shared, “Thank you ATI for this opportunity in which the Agribusiness students were able to participate in the Agri-galing sa e-Learning Quiz Bee. A month ago during the student’s orientation, we were oriented with this amazing e-Learning program where in we could enroll free courses in agriculture and fisheries and then generate certificates, an additional credential to our resume. But beyond that, we learn new technologies and strategies in farming, Agrib students who are also enthusiast for sure will be put into practice. To all Agrib students who are here participating and attending this Quiz Bee, thank you. To sir Vince Lao, our e-Learning coordinator, we are grateful for encouraging us to avail ATI’s e-Learning program.”

Ms. Krichelle Anne Y. Escarilla, a member of the winning team - Team Hooligans, was thankful for the opportunity, “ I have learned a lot in the e-Learning courses I took up and in preparation to this Quiz Bee, we were overwhelmed with my team with the little time to study. But surprisingly, we won and this is our first time for a competition like this, I will never forget this moment. Again, thank you ATI.”

The activity was attended by 50 students. Mr. Vince G. Lao, faculty of the VSU - Department of Business and Management and the e-Learning Coordinator, was also in attendance.
