Harvesting Ideas, Growing Connections: ATI 9 Participates in DA 9 Farmers’ Festival and Technology Forum
On August 12, 2025, ATI 9, through its Information Services Section, participated in the Farmers’ Festival and Technology Forum held at the Zamboanga del Sur Research and Experiment Station in Kaangayan, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur, as part of the DA Research Division Anniversary Celebration.
OIC Center Director Dr. Gerry R. Pagarigan graced the event, while OIC Assistant Center Director and Planning Officer Agustin F. Wagas delivered a short briefing on the ATI video presentation, which showcased the Institute’s programs and services.
The activity brought together farmers from various municipalities in Zamboanga del Sur, along with AFRREDN partners such as Local Government Units (LGUs), National Government Agencies (NGAs),State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), and private organizations.
During the celebration, DA research stations across the Zamboanga Peninsula showcased their research outputs and innovations through booth exhibits, with the host station introducing the newly developed chicken breed “DAZAMPENOK,” known for its resilience, low mortality rate, and potential to provide additional income for farmers.
The event also featured presentations on new farming technologies, fun games, and the distribution of agricultural items as prizes and tokens. ATI 9 displayed IEC materials and actively engaged with participants, while the celebration as a whole marked a milestone for AFRREDN in the region—demonstrating strong inter-agency collaboration and the all-out support of partner agencies.
