The Digital Agriculture Course for Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (DAC RCEF), which shares the same objectives and goals as the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) and Smart Communications, Inc.'s Digital Farmers Program (DFP), will use DFP modules and incorporate the promotion of tools and applications for rice-related agriculture, including the Rice Crop Manager, AgriDOC app, Binhing Palay, Rice Doctor, and Pinoy Rice Knowledge Bank, among others.

With this, to prepare the farm schools to take on the role as digital agriculture regional trainers, a Training of Trainer for the Digital Agriculture Course for RCEF was conducted last May 15-17, 2023, at Hotel Guillermo, Pagadian City and it was participated by 17 trainers from different RCEF Farm Schools in the province of Zamboanga del Sur.

One of the highlights during the training was the simulation and feed backing wherein they discussed the topics such as Smartphone 101, Internet Safety, Agri Apps, Social Media Marketing, e-Commerce Platforms, and Digital Transactions/Online payment. After, they prepared and presented their re-entry plans to be implemented in their farm schools.

This course will complement the Farmers’ Field School as it aims to capacitate and prepare Farm School representatives to implement digital literacy training for farmers in their respective areas.
