As part of ATI Nueve’s 36th anniversary celebration an Awareness campaign was conducted at an End Local Community Armed Conflict (ELCAC) community at Barangay Lison Valley, Pagadian City last January 30, 2023.
ATI Nueve conducted a seminar on sustainable agriculture led by HVCDP point person Mr. Julito B. Cordova. Topics such as basic home gardening and utilizing tools and materials that can be easily be found in the household. An open forum was also facilitated by Ms. Chared D. Ladera, Information Officer-II with Ms. Mylen Espinosa, Corn Program Point Person and Mr. Cordova as panelist. Participants were able to ask for clarifications and voice out concerns in their farming practices. To encourage the participants to start their home garden, various upland seeds were distributed after the seminar.
Simultaneously held was an Agriculture Appreciation thru Arts with the local school children. Kids were taught the value of agriculture and farming thru coloring and story telling activities. This activity hopes to encourage a new generation of agriculture practitioners in the country. Art and school supplies were also distributed during the activity.
The activity was in coordination with the 53rd Infantry "Matapat" Battalion, Philippine Army represented by 1Lt. Niel Kim M. Garcia and his team with the full support of Barangay Captain Hon. Joel S. Babayson.
The Agricultural Training Institute is celebrated its 36th anniversary with the theme ‘ATI LEADS: Innovate, Transform, Empower – Embracing Extension Modernization for a Progressive and Sustainable Agriculture and Fisheries’.
