ATI in Zamboanga Peninsula through its Techno-Gabay Program (TGP) turned over the Farmers’ Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center in Dimataling, Zamboanga del Sur, on June 15, 2023.
ATI-RTC IX OIC-Center Director Gerry R. Pagarigan, together with Municipal Mayor Avelino J. Yrauda and Municipal Agriculturist Lolito L. Palomares, led the ribbon-cutting and launching of the FITS Center.
During his message, Director Pagarigan emphasized the importance of FITS Center services to farmers. "The center will provide skills enhancement for LGUs as extension workers and at the same time fast-track the delivery, promotion, and transfer of technologies to the farmers," explained Pagarigan.
Mayor Yrauda showed his full support for the new project. "We are grateful for this FITS Center. Farmers in Dimataling will now have easy access to science and technology-based Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) agri-related materials," said Yrauda.
A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was also signed by Director Gerry R. Pagarigan, Mayor Avelino J. Yrauda, Municipal Agriculturist Lolito L. Palomares, and TGP Coordinator Jeanny R. Nabasca.
Also, present to support the turnover ceremony were MAFC Chairman Hermogenes Cristoria, SB Gilbert Yecyec, Upper Ludiong Barangay Captain Elsa Dinsing, ATI9 Planning Officer Agustin F. Wagas, Municipal Agriculture Office personnel, and farmers in Dimataling, Zamboanga del Sur.#
