The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) IX recognized the top achievers of the Farmers’ Information and Technology Services (FITS) Centers in the region during the Techno-Gabay Program (TGP) Summit held on May 18–19, 2023, at Hotel Guillermo, Pagadian City.
LGU-Molave FITS Center won 1st Place in the Search for the Best FITS Centers in the region; PLGU-Zamboanga del Sur FITS Center ranked 2nd; and LGU-Bayog ranked 3rd. Special citations were also given to Zamboanga City, Tukuran, and Titay for being the most active FITS centers in Zamboanga Peninsula (ZAMPEN).
In addition, around thirty FITS centers and kiosks were furthermore given merit and recognition for their outstanding contributions in the development and distribution of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials to farmers and fisherfolk.
OIC Center Director Gerry R. Pagarigan showed his support for the first-ever TGP Summit and Achievers’ Awarding Ceremony in the region. "We are thankful for your contributions to the distribution of agricultural technologies through IEC materials. We are looking forward to more FITS centers being established in Region 9," said Director Pagarigan in his message.
Through the TGP Summit and Awarding Ceremony, the ATI-IX emphasized the vital role of FITS Centers in disseminating science- and technology-based information and making services closer to end-users in the agriculture and fisheries sectors.#
