ATI Nueve headed by Center Director/TCS II Alicia Rose D. Nebreja together with Accountant I Jellyanne Moly G. Pamaran, Administrative Officer IV Naima W. Abbas, Livestock Focal Person Eduardo E. Sala, Jr. and Administrative Officer I Jay Marilao, joined the Salug Farmer's Multi-Purpose Cooperative (SAFAMCO) Groundbreaking Ceremony and Turn-over of 4 Million at Salug, Zamboanga del Norte. 


The Salug Farmer's Multi-Purpose Cooperative (SAFAMPCO) as the sole beneficiary of the Integrated National Swine Production Initiatives for Recovery and Expansion (INSPIRE) Program in the province of Zamboanga del Norte initiated a Groundbreaking Ceremony of the 5-Million Biosecure Facility at Brgy. Canawan.


After the ceremony, an orientation was conducted and discussed the terms and conditions stipulated in the MOA and requirements for the liquidation.
Followed by the turn-over of the initial amount worth 4 Million to Salug Farmer's Multi-Purpose Cooperative (SAFAMPCO) at the Municipal Hall of Salug, Zamboanga del Norte.


The turn-over ceremony had been joined by Mayor William “Mabuhay” Maribojoc, SAFAMPCO Chairman Rogelio M. Lumarda, SAFAMPCO Board of Directors and the Different Heads of Local Government Unit of Salug.


Mr. Lumarda expressed his gratitude to ATI-RTC IX for the continuous support the agency had been given to the SAFAMPCO.


The 4 Million is for the Integrated National Swine Production Initiatives for Recovery and Expansion (INSPIRE) Program for the establishment of Biosecure Facility that includes perimeter fence, climate controlled animal house, waste management, basic farm equipment, office, and shower area.


INSPIRE Program is a 3-year program that offers mixed interventions to jumpstart and revive the significantly dying swine industry. The program also takes particular attention to clustering and consolidation strategies specifically of small hog raisers to facilitate technical support services and other intervention along the value chain. In support to repopulation efforts, the program also includes the implementation of biosecurity plans anchored to the BABAy ASF Programs.
