With the aim to review the current state of the National Halal Program and to develop plans for its future growth, ATI-RTC XII spearheaded the Strategic Planning: Halal Coordination Meeting and Enhancing Halal Industry Growth: A Stakeholders Meeting last February 26-27, 2025, at Hotel Guillermo, Pagadian City.
Gerry R. Pagarigan, DVM, OIC Center Director of ATI-RTC IX, warmly welcomed the delegates from Regions 10, 11, and 12 in the City of Pagadian. He also expressed his gratitude for the active support and continuous promotion of the halal industry. Also, he looks forward to the productive discussion and strategic planning of the program.
National Halal Program point person Engr. Mokles P. Buisan gave the rationale and objectives of the activity and encouraged full participation from the participants.
Present during the 2-day activity were ATI-RTC-XII Halal Point person Mrs. Hannadi S. Guiamad Pompong, Mr. Merzaq A. Ulama, and Mr. Normuhaymin B. Arsad ; and Mr. Abdulkadil Ango from DA-RFO-XII; ATI-RTC X Halal Point Person Mr. Jeric L.Cabatac and Mr. Abdulkadil Azis Y. Abdul Nasser; ATI-RTC XI Halal Point Person Dr. Omarbliss B. Dalam and Mr. Norsaeb B. Lumandong, and ATI-RTC IX Halal point Person Mr. Reynaldo A. Beduya and Ms. Sittie Norjanna Pala, and alongside DA-RFO IX, represented by Mr. Yasser N. Sarip.
Mr. Abdulkadil Ango from DA-RFO XII gave an update on the current situation of the Halal Industry in the Philippines. He also shared a presentation on Halal Board Industry market matching, the problems, and solutions to the recent happenings in the halal industry.
The group also prepared their 2026-2027 indicative targets, drafted Halal Farm LSA Guidelines and a training course design for Training on Halal-Compliant Agriculture Production.
