In the Philippines, it has been observed that the best practices for growing rice differ among fields and farmers. And fields vary in access to financial resources, inputs, and technologies. Since farmers need information to increase income for their specific rice-farming situation, there is a need to brief the farmers on rice crop manager.
With this, the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center 9 (ATI-RTC 9) through the Information Services Section (ISS) and in partnership with JAZZ Farm (one of the Learning Site for Agriculture in the region) headed by Mr. Jonathan Yambao - LSA Cooperator, conducted two (2) batches of Rice Crop Manager (RCM) Briefing for the selected Farmers' Field School (FFS) participants at Brgy. Ilisan, Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay last June 16, 2023.
More than 40 farmers were interviewed and given personalized RCM recommendations to serve as a guide and improve their crop management. The recommendations were also explained to the farmers one by one.
The activity aimed to promote the RCM application to the rice farmers in the municipality.
