The Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) are essential for agricultural development, acting as connectors in complex innovative systems. They facilitate various interventions and require appropriate tools and approaches due to the significant demands from clients and institutions.
Hence, ATI-RTC-CAR conducted the Training on Basic Agricultural Extension Course (BAEC) for Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) of the region with a goal of capacitating newly appointed partners in agricultural extension possessing critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
During the program, Mr. Charlie C. Sagudan, Training Center Director, graced the opening program of the training and shared a message of encouragement in capacitating new AEWs to the world of extension.
Moreover, the training featured a series of learning sessions and a community immersion facilitated by the Resource Pool on BAEC of the ATI Network.
Learning sessions include Personal Awareness and Self-Mastery; Basics of Agricultural Extension; Agricultural Extension Approaches, Strategies, and Methods; Communication in Extension; and The Community Work.
βThis training has reminded me that extension work is not merely a service we deliverβit is a partnership built on mutual respect, shared knowledge, and collaboration. Itβs through this dynamic exchange that meaningful and lasting change can truly happen,β shared by Ms. Ivy B. Alfonso, one of the participants from PLGU Mountain Province.
The activity was attended by 30 AEWs from various provinces and municipalities of the Cordillera and was on June 16-20, 2025 at the Dam-muhan Hall, ATI-RTC-CAR, BSU Compd., La Trinidad, Benguet.Β //Ezra O. Felix, CDMS Technical Support StaffΒ
