To guide and support the future initiatives of the National Federation of Learning Sites for Agriculture (NFLSA), the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) spearheaded a Workshop on Activity Planning and Institutional Strengthening on August 26–29 at ADDAM’s Haven Integrated Farm, Brgy. Ompao, Tarragona, Davao Oriental.
As the national secretariat of the NFLSA, the ATI—through its Partnerships and Accreditation Division—organized the activity, which gathered the federation’s officers, representatives, and the national secretariat to craft its initial development agenda, design the framework for the first-ever National LSA Summit, and strengthen mechanisms for coordination and sustainability.
The discussions covered the federation’s formal meeting, identification of regional gaps, and a series of workshops on summit framework, activity guidelines, potential partners and topics, and income-generating projects.
The group also adopted the proposed concept for the LSA Summit, envisioned as a landmark gathering to showcase best practices, foster collaboration, build networks, and chart a unified direction for LSAs nationwide.
Gracing the event were Ms. Joy Banlasan, Provincial Director of the Department of Trade and Industry in Davao Oriental, and Ms. Alicia Rose D. Nebreja, Center Director of ATI Davao Region. In her message, Nebreja reaffirmed ATI’s strong partnership with LSAs in advancing agricultural development and highlighted the rich agricultural landscape of the Davao Region.
Participants also experienced first-hand the best practices in coffee production at ADDAM’s Haven Integrated Farm, where Engr. Mosquera shared how collaboration and partnerships with organizations have strengthened his farm enterprise.
