DILIMAN, Quezon City – The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) conducted a Retooling on Basic Agricultural Extension Course (BAEC) on February 23 to 24, 2026, at ATI Training Hall 2, Diliman, Quezon City.

The activity aimed to strengthen the competencies of 20 BAEC and Expanded BAEC resource persons (RPs) in delivering the new BAEC lessons. Twelve participants were assigned to the lesson on Personal Awareness and Self‑Mastery, while eight focused on the Community Work.

During the two-day retooling, participants attended input sessions that revisited key concepts and lesson content. The session on Personal Awareness and Self-Mastery was facilitated by Ms. Glo Anne N. Darunday of ATI-RTC IX, while The Community Work session was led by Ms. Ruby Jane P. Bentiroso of ATI-RTC XI. These sessions provided opportunities for participants to review the lessons, clarify concepts, and deepen their understanding of the lessons.

Participants also received coaching and mentoring on how to effectively plan, prepare, and deliver the lessons using existing presentation materials and structured learning activities with clarity, confidence and impact. As retooled RPs, the participants are now better equipped with updated materials, strengthened facilitation skills, and improved instructional strategies to effectively deliver the lessons.

Through this initiative, ATI reaffirms its commitment to continuous learning and capacity development to ensure a competent agricultural extension workforce capable of delivering quality services to rural communities nationwide.
