DILIMAN, Quezon City – The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) conducted a Refresher on Basic Agricultural Extension Course (BAEC) on February 25 to 26, 2026 at the ATI Training Hall 1, Diliman, Quezon City.
The course objective is to enhance participants’ knowledge and awareness of the new BAEC lesson, formerly known as Extension Delivery System Course (EDS), with 20 EDS graduates across the network participating in the activity.
Ms. Glo Anne Darunday of ATI-RTC IX facilitated the discussion on Personal Awareness and Self-Mastery, guiding participants through self-reflection activities that helped strengthen self-awareness, recognize personal strengths, and deepen their understanding of their roles as extension workers. Meanwhile, Ms. Ruby Jane Bentiroso of ATI-RTC XI led the session on The Community Work, emphasizing the importance of social mobilization, community partnerships, and the fundamentals of working with communities.
Participants were also updated on recent developments and emerging trends in agricultural extension by Ms. Theresa Aurora Cosico, emphasizing the need to continuously adapt to the evolving agricultural and rural development.
Through this course, ATI strengthens its commitment to continuous learning and capacity development, ensuring a competent extension workforce capable of delivering quality services and supporting agricultural development in rural communities nationwide.
