Featured in the 227th episode of Agri Asenso, JoRoss Farm in Albay has trained nearly 4,000 new farmers through its organic agriculture programs, earning recognition as a Gawad Saka Award winner.
The journey began with a simple encouragement from the Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Office. Motivated by that push, the family compiled years of records and testimonials dating back to 2009 to showcase their impact.
“Yung recording po namin started in 2009, hindi pa kami farmer. Meron po kami non, yearly at monthly—lahat documented,” they shared.
Their farm’s influence extends beyond training. When the pandemic hit, they distributed thousands of seedlings across Albay to help communities sustain food production. They also partnered with the Department of Health for community outreach and blood donation drives.
Today, JoRoss Farm stands as a model for agricultural empowerment in the Bicol Region—proof that with dedication and purpose, one farm can help grow a generation of new farmers.
