MAKILALA, Cotabato – The Agricultural Training Institute–Partnerships and Accreditation Division (ATI-PAD), in collaboration with the ATI Regional Training Center XII (ATI-RTC XII), successfully conducted the Training on Biodynamics from May 11–15, 2026 at the St. John Bosco Biodynamic Farm and Ecological Techno-Park located in Barangay Batasan, Makilala, Cotabato.
The training was participated in by 32 individuals, including Organic Agriculture (OA) personnel from ATI Regional Training Centers and farmer leaders from various provinces in the region.
Likewise, the activity aimed to strengthen the technical competencies of the participants and deepen their understanding of biodynamic agriculture as a holistic and regenerative farming system. It focused on enhancing knowledge and skills in ecological balance, soil health restoration, and climate-resilient agricultural practices.
Participants learned key biodynamic principles, including integrated crop-livestock-forestry systems, Biodynamic Preparations (BD 500–507), and the Biodynamic Planting Calendar. The lectures were complemented by hands-on activities such as composting, preparation and application of biodynamic inputs, farm immersion, and guided field visits, enabling participants to apply their learning in actual farm settings.
The training strengthened participants’ technical knowledge, practical skills, and ecological awareness through a combination of classroom discussions and experiential learning activities.
Through this initiative, ATI reaffirmed its commitment to promoting sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural systems while strengthening the capacity of extension workers and farmer leaders to advocate and practice biodynamic agriculture in their respective communities.
The activity concluded with a synthesis and integration session, followed by the awarding of certificates to participants who successfully completed the training.
