Recognizing the vital role of youth participation in empowering fellow young Filipinos, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) conducted an Exploratory Meeting on Youth-Focused Programs on August 17, 2026, via online Zoom. The meeting with the Agricultural Students Alliance of the Philippines (ASAP) and the Office of Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan aimed to identify potential areas of collaboration in fostering youth engagement and empowerment in the agriculture and fisheries (AF) sector.
During the discussion, ATI offered its training and capacity-building programs through free access to an e-learning platform, webinars, and training for youth in partnership with Regional Training Centers. The ASAP may likewise leverage ATI’s scholarship and research grant, international and local internship programs, and Digi Agri Hacki Project through active participation and promotion of these initiatives to the student network.
ASAP, on the other hand, has offered its student network to engage students, promote AF programs and innovations, and broaden participation in youth-focused programs.
As a way forward, ASAP will draft a Memorandum of Understanding/Agreement for the input of the ATI to formalize the agreements during the meeting and sustain collaboration. This meeting reflects the shared vision of ASAP, ATI, and the Office of Sen. Kiko Pangilinan on advancing the agriculture and fisheries sector by cultivating opportunities FOR THE YOUTH, WITH THE YOUTH.
