Paving the way for the next generation of agri-tech leaders, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) gathered young innovators from four pilot regions for the Agri Tech Innovate: Bootcamp and Mentoring Session at Madison 101 Hotel in New Manila, Quezon City.
The four-day event brought together 12 student teams from various universities who had successfully advanced from Phase 1 of the project—the Ideation Workshop. Building on their initial concepts, the participants refined their digital solutions into viable prototypes or minimum viable products that could help address pressing challenges in the agriculture and fisheries sector.
Serving as a platform for learning and collaboration, the bootcamp connected the participants with mentors and experts from both the government and private sector. These included GoEden Philippines, Department of Agriculture’s Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture National Program Management Office, International Rice Research Institute, PLDT-Smart, Department of Information and Communications Technology's ICT Industry Development Bureau, Agrabah Adventures, and LaunchGarage Innovation Hub. Farmer-innovators and accredited learning sites of ATI—specifically Myriad Farms and Bukid Amara—were also on board to share practical insights from the field.
Through mentoring and guidance, the activity strengthened the participants’ capacity to design and deliver innovative, technology-driven solutions that could uplift Filipino farmers and transform agriculture into a more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient sector.
From the pool of participants, the Top 5 standout teams have been declared to move forward to the final phase—Demo Day—where their prototypes will take center stage. These teams are:
- 1st Place – SEAQUA (Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology)
- 2nd Place – Onionet (Saint Mary's University – Bayombong)
- 3rd Place – AgriBits (Aklan State University)
- 4th Place – DIPTek (Cavite State University – Naic Campus)
- 5th Place – ArcTech (University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines – Cagayan de Oro Campus)
The Agri Tech Innovate, also known as Digi Agri Hacki, underscored ATI’s commitment to cultivating the next generation of agri-innovators and to strengthening the agriculture sector through technology-driven and farmer-centered solutions. The activity was held from August 25–28, 2029.
