The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) led a dynamic virtual gathering from November 11 to 14, 2025, as part of the Department of Agriculture’s (DA) efforts to streamline and strengthen extension services nationwide. The FY 2027 Technical Review and Planning Workshop brought together 56 representatives from various DA bureaus, attached agencies, and corporations to discuss the upcoming year’s programs and budgets.

Under DA Special Order No. 1772, series of 2024, ATI serves as the lead for the Extension Support, Education, and Training Technical Management Team (DA ESET-TMT). During the four-day workshop, 23 agencies presented their proposed FY 2027 plans, focusing on alignment with DA’s strategic priorities, addressing service gaps, reducing duplication, and enhancing overall program impact.

A panel featuring representatives from the Office of the Undersecretary for Operations and Agri-Fisheries Mechanization & Rural Credit, the DA Planning and Monitoring Service, and key DA banner programs offered recommendations to further refine and strengthen the proposed initiatives.

In her message, ATI Assistant Director Antonieta J. Arceo emphasized the importance of harmonizing extension programs across agencies. She encouraged collaboration among member agencies and highlighted ATI’s training grant system, which can support extension activities led by DA ESET-TMT and other service providers.

The workshop highlighted the collective commitment of DA extension agencies to coordinate efforts, improve service delivery, and ensure that programs continue to benefit farmers, fisherfolk, and the wider agriculture sector.###
