The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), through its Central Office (CO) operating units, successfully concluded its annual operational planning workshop on January 17, 2025. The 5-day workshop focused on crafting the Institute’s budget proposals for Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 and firming up implementation mechanisms and strategies for the FY 2025 Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs).
During the opening program, ATI Director Remelyn R. Recoter outlined the policy directions for FY 2025. She emphasized that ATI’s plans must align with the goals and key priority areas of the Department of Agriculture, with the aim of making farming, livestock raising, and fisheries a bankable and profitable investment opportunities and viable career option for young Filipinos.
Director Recoter also underscored the importance of aligning ATI’s plans with the Agricultural and Fisheries Extension (AFE) Strategic Plan 2023-2028, the Masagana Rice Industry Development Program (MRIDP) 2023-2028, and the developed Commodity Curriculum Framework. She emphasized that the Commodity Curriculum Framework would serve as a guide for designing training programs across the ATI network. She expressed her hope that this framework could also inspire similar efforts by other training and extension agencies. Additionally, she provided a detailed overview of operational policies related to each division's respective PPAs.
Assistant Director Antonieta J. Arceo complemented this with administrative policy updates and directives into ATI’s thrusts and priorities for the year. The ATI Directorate reiterated its commitment to delivering needs-based and data-driven training programs, reinforcing its vision of becoming the premier institution for agricultural training and extension in the country. Also during the activity, several employees of the Institute were also recognized for their consistent demonstration of exceptional attendance during flag raising and lowering ceremonies of ATI and for team performance.
During the breakout sessions, the ATI CO operating units finalized their FY 2025 plans and determined implementation strategies for these PPAs and identified FY 2027 innovative PPAs with corresponding indicative budgetary requirements. Further, each staff accomplished their Individual Performance Commitment and Review (IPCR) with rating for FY 2024 and targets for FY 2025.
The operational planning workshop was held from January 13-17, 2025 at the Rural Development Education Center and in Subic, Zambales.
