ATI-RTC X wraps up two-phase training on Basic Agricultural Extension Course (BAEC) for Agricultural Extension Workers in Region 10

Poblacion, EL SALVADOR CITY - The ten-day Basic Agricultural Extension Course (BAEC) for Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) finally comes to an end, as the participants complete the two-phase training from May 27-31 and June 10-14, 2024 held at ATI-RTC X.

The training was led by the training management staff headed by Center Director, Ms. Maria Lydia A. Echavez; Assistant Center Director, Ms. Noemi Beth G. Macario; Training Specialist III/Project Officer, Ms. Teodosia D. Jaraba; and Ms. Gia Joy B. Lusterio, Technical Support Staff of ATI-RTC X. The training was attended by twenty (20) AEWs from the different cities/municipalities in Region X.

The training aims to enhance the critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills among the AEWs for them to empower farmers and fisherfolks in their respective municipalities. During the closing program, the selected participants shared their invaluable impressions that highlight the importance and impact of the said training. “We are not only capacitated to have the right abilities, but also to have the  heart and right emotion for our clients. Being an AEW is not easy… this is not just a simple training, this is a training with a purpose", said Reesel M. Taala, participant from PLGU-Camiguin.

Moreover, Ms. Jaraba expressed her gratitude to the participants in her closing message which ignited the participants’ spirits to strive for a greater impact to become effective catalysts for change. “I am very happy to hear all your impressions…This training also capacitated you to become more confident, so carry yourself with confidence - that you definitely know the work. So, aim to achieve and be in your teachable moments", she said.
