Creativity and ingenuity showcased in ATIng Dish Gardening Contest

ATI Compound, El Salvador City—As the Institute celebrates its 36th Founding Anniversary, selected schools in the City of El Salvador were invited to join in the different contests for high school participants for the 2-day Center-based celebration of ATI-RTC X on January 30-31, 2023. Among the contests that transpired on January 30, 2023 include the ATIng Dish Gardening where high school students showcased their creativity and imagination through the arrangement of different plants and other ornaments inside a dish.

The contestants were provided with materials needed for the dish gardening such as garden tools, apron, shallow dish, pebbles, potting soil, succulents, and cactus. They were also allowed to bring other items and to roam around the vicinity to look for items that they could use in their presentation but limiting to five additional items only.

The judges’ decision for the contest were based on the following criteria:

Creativity and Artistry - 60%

Visual Impact - 20%

Safety Work Habits - 10%

Ability to Answer Questions - 10%

Vaughn Fredrich Beliga from Molugan National High School was hailed as champion, followed by Isabel Rose Obrador from The New El Salvador Colleges, Louella Balios from St. Joseph Academy - El Salvador, and Jenny Rabina of Cogon National High School who were placed second, third, and fourth respectively. #
