Kalilangan, BUKIDNON— To fasten the delivery of information and technologies on agriculture and fisheries, the Agriculture Training Institute-Regional Training Center X (ATI-RTC X) remains steadfast in reaching more farmers through the establishment of more FITS Centers and Kiosks in the region
The Center launched two more Farmers Information and Technology Services (FITS) Kiosks in Kalilangan, Bukidnon on October 23, 2023.
The Barangay FITS Kiosks were established at Barangay Malinao and Barangay Maca-opao. The activity had a ceremonial ribbon cutting and turned over of equipment that were essential in the operations of the Kiosks. Both of the Kiosks were given a laptop, a printer, a tablet and an IEC rack with brochures on various technologies in agriculture and fisheries.
ATI RTC X Information Service Section Chief, Maria Eloisa A. Akut, shared an overview on the roles and responsibilities as barangay FITS Kiosk as a hub of information and technology for the local farmers in their barangay. She also expressed her thanks to LGU Kalilangan through its FITS Center Kalilangan represented by FITS Manager Roderick Basañez and his two other FITS Staff.
“at present there are already 130 plus FITS Kiosks in region 10, and some were established through LGUs initiatives, without waiting for our support,” Ms. Akut also announced during the launching ceremony at Barangay Malinao.
Bukidnon has the second largest numbers of FITS Kiosks established, as FITS Center Talakag established 27 FITS Kiosks in 2022.###
