The region’s fight toward rice self-sufficiency continues. The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center X as capacity building of the Department of Agriculture conducts intervention to address rice sufficiency for its clients in region 10.
ATI-RTC X conducted a series of Rice Crop Management Briefings on October 18, 2022, at Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental and on October 21, 2022, at Cabanglasan, Bukidnon.
The activity was attended by 40 rice farmers, 20 farmers in Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental, and 20 rice farmers in Cabanglasan, Bukidnon.
The series of briefings were able to generate more than 40 recommendations from 40 farmers. The recommendations will guide them the next planting season which will be on November 2022 -January 2023. The recommendations included site-specific water, pest, and weed management, and timing and splitting of fertilizer recommendations for each farmer, and their farm.
RCM aims to enhance and sustain rice productivity through its digital agriculture service that provides farmers with the right information specific to their farm.
The briefings were in coordination with LGU-Magsasay, Misamis Oriental, and LGU-Cabanglasan, Bukidnon.###
