
Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center X (ATI-RTC X) recently conducted the 10-day Training of Trainers on Corn Production and Management at NMACLRC, Dalwangan, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.
The training was participated by a total of 32 Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) and Farmer Field School (FFS) implementers from Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Cagayan de Oro City.
The activity aimed to capacitate the participants on sustainable and innovative production technologies in corn.
The training program includes lectures and discussions, as well as hands-on activities, workshops, and demonstrations. They also visited the DA-Regional Crop Protection Center X in Bangcud, Malaybalay City, wherein they were introduced to the various Biological Control Agents reared in their laboratories.

Moreover, to fully grasp their roles as future trainers and resource speakers, the participants were also equipped with relevant soft skills in becoming effective trainers such as basics of facilitation and presentation skills with emphasis on the preparation of effective instructional materials and visual aids.
The final output of the activity was a 10-minute microteaching of their chosen topics wherein Mr. Rey Manuel H. Endrina, Mr. Andrey Q. Ardo and Ms. April Ann N. Baltazar emerged as best micro-teaching presenters.
The participants of the said training are expected to train the corn farmers in their respective municipalities and will also serve as partners of ATI in the implementation of season-long FFS on corn production and management.
