ATI-RTC X Conducts Capability Enhancement Training for Women in support of the Celebration of the 2023 National Women’s Month

ATI-RTC X conducted a Capability Enhancement Training for Women on March 22-24, 2023 at ATI Training Hall, Poblacion, El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental.  This is in support of the National Women’s Month Celebration purposely to inform, engage, to capacitate women to contribute and take an active role in nation-building.  Also, this activity is conducted as an opportunity to share good practices and address challenges and issues in pursuing gender and development and to encourage and inspire women to empower themselves and to benefit towards maximizing their full potential.

This activity is conducted in collaboration with Local Government Unit of El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental through the City Social Welfare and Development Office.  Twenty-five (25) women from Barangays Poblacion, Molugan and Himaya of El Salvador City. actively participated and successfully finished the course.

Among the topics included were: The Basics of Gender and Development, Magna Carta of Women, Safe Spaces Act, Solo Parent Act, Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Meat Processing.

Resource Persons were Atty. Vivien Ines-Mostrales, Atty. Abigail N. Co, Atty. Ricolino L. Ayuban, Atty. Leah Marie M. Sernal-Lood of the Public Attorney’s Office  Region 10 and in El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental; Atty. Pilipinas C. Palma of the Commission on Human Rights Region 10 and Ms. Anthonette June D. Russel of DA-ATI-RTC X.

Worthy of mention was the active participation of the women participants in all the activities undertaken. They were interested to learn about the laws, rights, and security of women under the Philippine laws.  They raised questions to clarify doubts in their minds, especially on the topic pertaining to the protection against women, women empowerment, and provisions and empowerment for marginalized women.  They were also eager to learn about meat processing/meat cooking and actively participated in the demonstration activities.  They were encouraged to go into business as part of their plans for the future.
