ATI Compound, EL SALVADOR CITY---As part of the Women's Month celebration, an informative and interactive session on First Aid, Fire Safety, and Disaster Preparedness was held on March 21, 2025, at ATI-RTC X, Poblacion, El Salvador City.

Mr. Mervin S. Gelaga, Research and Planning Officer I of El Salvador City, led a thorough discussion on Disaster Preparedness, emphasizing the importance of proactive measures, planning, and resource allocation to minimize the impact of disasters on people, property, and the environment.

Fire Officer 2 (FO2) Xanty James J. Lignes, FO1 Ariel R. Cabiladas, Jr., and Maleborn B. Opena delivered an insightful session on Fire Safety in establishments. They highlighted fire safety's crucial role in preventing fires, safeguarding lives, and reducing property damage. Their discussion covered fire prevention, early detection, and emergency preparedness to ensure safety at home, in the workplace, and within communities.

In the afternoon session, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (MDRRM) staff of Laguindingan conducted a Basic First Aid demonstration. Nurse Farah Jane Ocampo led the presentation, while Mr. Hallie Neill Madriano and Ms. Sarah Mae Bacalso also demonstrated step-by-step emergency care procedures, including CPR and fracture treatment, to prevent conditions from worsening before professional medical help arrived. Additionally, Mr. Roberto Dalondonan shared essential techniques for bandaging wounds, applying slings for arm injuries, and other first-aid interventions.
