El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental – The Agricultural Training Institute Regional Training Center 10 (ATI-RTC 10) successfully conducted a training on cut flower production from March 19 to 21, 2025. The event was held in celebration of International Women's Month and in support of the Gender and Development (GAD) Program. A total of 31 Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) and women farmer leaders from across the region attended the training.

The training aimed to enhance participants' knowledge of proper cultural management practices for cut flower production. Key speakers included Atty. Joshua B. Mercado, who discussed the significance of Gender and Development, emphasizing the crucial role of women in the agricultural sector. Mr. Robert Meios, owner of Flowerland Integrated Farm, provided insights into the economic and market potential of the cut flower industry. Meanwhile, Mr. Michael S. Caballes, Chief Farmer of Bukid Amara Agri Farm, shared his expertise on cut flower production and its cultural management practices.

Hands-on demonstrations and return demonstrations were conducted by the speakers and participants on soil media preparation, planting, and plant propagation of cut flowers. Ms. Moisa Niña C. Paglinawan facilitated a workshop on re-entry plans for AEWs and action plans for farmer leaders, which will serve as a guide for participants upon their return to their stations. The training was accredited by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), offering 10 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points for licensed agriculturists.
