ATI-RTC X joins the 2023 National Women’s Month Celebration

Poblacion, El Salvador City---As a yearly endeavor to promote public awareness and honor women and their contribution to nation-building, the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center X (ATI-RTC X) recently participated in the National Women’s Month (NWM) celebration with this year’s theme “WE for gender equality and inclusive society”.  The activity highlights the need to protect, promote and fulfill women’s rights to maximize their potential and welfare, hence, enabling them to be agents of the country’s development. The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) spearheads the annual NWM celebration.

As a kick-off activity, a Zumba/Dancing activity was held at the ATI ground on March 8, which was participated by the management and staff of the center to mark the opening of the month-long celebration.  The activity was conducted in support to Proclamation No.224 s. of 1988 declaring the first week of March of every year as Women’s Week and March 8 as Women’s Rights and International Peace Day and Republic Act No. 6949 (1990) declaring March 8 of every year as the National Women’s Day. Center Director Maria Lydia A. Echavez delivered an inspirational message to support the celebration and inspire more women to contribute in the attainment of the organizational objectives.

In support to the NWM celebration and to the Proclamation No. 227 s. of 1988 providing for the observance of the Month of March as Women’s Role in History Month, other activities include (1) the use of the “All Women Cast Lupang Hinirang Video” in our activities during March trainings and training-related activities; (2) display the campaign banner provided by PCW in front of ATI-RTC X office and upload it on the center’s official website and social media accounts; (3) wearing of our purple polo shirt on all Wednesdays of March to make our support visible; (4) featuring of successful women in our AgrisStoryahay sa ATI Webinar streaming video on March 31 and sharing post from PCW official social media accounts through our IS Services Section.

Likewise, the center will conduct a Capability Building Training (client-focused) with 25 all-women participants, in collaboration with the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) of the City of El Salvador to be held on March 22-24 at the ATI-RTC X Training Hall, El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental.

Upcoming trainings include Capability Enhancement Seminar (organization-focused) which is slated on March 27, 2023 and a Culminating Activity on March 29, 2012, will be attended by the Technical and Administrative Support Staff at ATI RTC X Training Hall.  Among others, topics include: Magna Carta of Women, Anti-Sexual Harassment in the Workplace, Anti-Violence Against Women and their children, Safe Spaces Act and Solo Parent Act.  Invited resource persons are from the Commission on Human Rights and Public Attorney’s Office in Cagayan de Oro City.
