The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 10, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office 10, has conducted its first meeting of the year on February 15, 2024. The meeting was held at TIEZA-Gardens of Malasag, Eco-tourism Village, in Cagayan de Oro City.
This activity envisions a strengthened implementation of Province-led Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Systems (PAFES) across the region, particularly in the five provinces and two highly urbanized cities. The meeting was attended by representatives from various agencies, such as the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech), Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Philippine Council for Agriculture and Fisheries (PCAF), Bureau of Plant Industry-Plant Product Safety Services Division (BPI-PPSSD), Regional Agriculture and Fishery Council (RAFC), five Provincial Agriculture and Fishery Councils (PAFC) and the two Highly Urbanized City Agriculture and Fishery Council (HUCAFC).
Likewise, it was organized to ensure that the region's agricultural and fisheries sector will continuously thrive, and the grassroots farmers are given equitable access to quality and sustainable food production leading to better economic and social conditions for them. The collaboration of various agencies and councils will help achieve this goal by providing technical support, research, and training to the people in the region.
