Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City---The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center X (ATI-RTC X), through its Partnership and Accreditation Section (PAS), in partnership with the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office X (DA-RFO X), successfully held a training workshop on the formulation of a Cluster Development Plan from July 23-26, 2024, at the TIEZA Gardens in Malasag, Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City.
The said planning workshop brought together farmer leaders and Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs), who actively participated in crafting a draft for their Cluster Development Plan, supported by the Local Government Unit (LGU). The primary objective was to enhance the capacity of Farm Associations to develop actionable plans that align with regional agricultural goals.
The training was significantly enriched by the expertise of Mr. Jerome Villarta, Mr. Lorencio Buntod, and Ms. Jeane Anne Navaja from DA-RFO X. Their contributions were instrumental in creating a collaborative and engaging environment, ensuring that participants left with valuable insights and practical skills.
Representatives from various national agencies, including DA-RFO X (specifically the AMAD, Rice, and Corn Programs), PhilMech, DTI, and DOST, also attended the event. They presented their respective plans for the clusters, fostering a comprehensive dialogue on agricultural development strategies.
The workshop concluded successfully, with two associations stepping forward to present their drafts, highlighting the initiative's effectiveness in promoting active participation and collaboration among stakeholders in the agricultural sector.
