Digos City—In an effort to empower students with agricultural knowledge and skills, the ATI-RTC XI held a graduation ceremony for 70 Grade 11 and 12 students from Matti National High School who successfully completed e-Learning courses under the e-Extension for Agriculture and Fisheries Program on December 3, 2024.
The ceremony aimed to honor the students' dedication and achievements, recognizing their successful completion of the program and their growing interest in contributing to advancements in agriculture and fisheries.
School Principal Juvic Sucayre welcomed participants and guests, encouraging graduates to maximize opportunities like this to broaden their horizons. He emphasized the school’s strong support for government programs, particularly in agriculture, and recognized their role in preparing students for future challenges.
Ms. Cristin Rosan Besario, Media Production Specialist II of ATI-RTC XI, presented a synthesis of the program. She highlighted how the e-Learning platform was introduced to various schools in the Davao Region, leading to Matti National High School being chosen to host the graduation ceremony.
Students also expressed their appreciation for the program. Sheila Marie L. Cahilig, a Grade 11 student, shared how the courses provided valuable insights into agriculture, particularly crop production.
“The courses helped us a lot and gave us additional information in agriculture. It’s great that they are accessible online and can be done during our free time,” Cahilig shared.
City Agriculturist Engr. Jerome S. Escobarte inspired the graduates with a message emphasizing the opportunities the program offers. To make the event more engaging, he conducted a question-and-answer session about the e-Learning courses, rewarding students with prizes for correct answers.
Assistant Center Director of ATI-RTC XI, Ms. Olivia D. Gatus, congratulated the graduates and challenged them to nurture their learnings and share their knowledge with peers.
The event also recognized top 5 students who excelled in completing multiple courses through ATI’s e-Learning platform. All graduates received certificates of completion, while the top five 5 performers were given additional rewards, with the top student, Jake A. Gonzaga of Grade 12- Demeter receiving a tablet.
Also present at the ceremony were Ms. Loida T. Magoncia, FITS Center Manager from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, and Engr. Marichou G. Bulat-ag, FITS Center Manager from LGU-Digos, along with teachers from Matti National High School.
The e-Extension for Agriculture and Fisheries Program continues to empower students with practical knowledge and innovation, inspiring them to pursue careers in agriculture and contribute to a sustainable future. This achievement is a testament to the commitment of both educators and learners to advancing agricultural development in the region.
