ATI-RTC XI Sends Off 3 Interns Among 50 Filipino Young Farmers Bound for Taiwan

QUEZON CITY— The Agricultural Training Institute held a send-off ceremony  for Batch 5 of the Filipino Young Farmers Internship Program in Taiwan (FYFIPT) on November 11, 2024 at the ATI-RDEC Function Hall, Quezon City. 

This program aims to equip young Filipino farmers with advanced agricultural knowledge and practices through hands-on training and cultural exchange in Taiwan, empowering  them to make meaningful contributions to the Philippine agricultural sector upon their return.

The ceremony underscored the importance of the program in fostering international agricultural cooperation and developing youth leaders in agriculture. Among the distinguished guests were Minister Michael T.S. Li, Deputy Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in the Philippines, and Ms. Anne Glynn F. Lisbo, Chief Agriculturist from the Department of Agriculture-Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service (DA-AMAS). Their presence symbolized the strong partnership between the Philippines and Taiwan in promoting agricultural innovation and youth development.

In her welcome message, Engr. Remelyn R. Recoter, MNSA, CESO III, Director IV of ATI, highlighted the vital role of young farmers in building a sustainable agricultural future. 

Of the 50 interns, three are representing the Davao Region, bringing pride to their communities as they prepare to expand their knowledge and skills in Taiwan:

1. Carlo Villaro from New Corella, Davao del Norte
2. Josue Montealto from Panabo City, Davao del Norte
3. Jannieboy G. Lapinosa from Maragusan, Davao de Oro

The send-off concluded with a heartfelt message from Ms. Antonieta J. Arceo, Director III and OIC-Chief of ATI-Partnerships and Accreditation Division, followed by a group photo to capture the unity and support from coordinators, family members, and friends as the interns prepared for their journey.

This event reaffirms ATI’s commitment to empowering young agricultural leaders and fostering a progressive, sustainable future for Philippine agriculture through international learning and exchange.
