PANABO CITY, Davao del Norte— To strengthen local capacity in sustainable livestock production, 25 agricultural extension workers from Provincial Veterinary Offices, along with farmers from various municipalities and cities across the region, completed the Training on Feed Production and Enterprise Development held on October 28–30, 2024 at ATI-RTC XI in Brgy. Datu Abdul Dadia.
The training focused on equipping participants with practical skills for producing high-quality feed formulations from locally sourced ingredients, thereby reducing costs and enhancing feed quality for improved livestock health. Through hands-on demonstrations at small-scale feed mills, participants gained experience in feed milling techniques such as the use of pulverizers and pelletizers. They also learned to operate feed mill equipment, identify quality ingredients, formulate effective feed blends, and apply sampling methods for feed analysis.
Dr. Omarbliss B. Dalam, Project Officer and Livestock Focal Person, served as a Resource Person throughout the training.
One of the highlights of the training was a site visit to New Hope Davao Agriculture Inc. in Brgy. Datu Abdul Dadia, where participants toured the facility to observe its advanced feed milling technology. Mr. Vince Hu, General Manager, and Mr. Odclien Bem A. Manco, General Affairs Assistant, provided valuable insights into efficient operational strategies and best practices that reflect the company’s vision to innovation and excellence in feed production.
By integrating their newly acquired skills, participants are now equipped to implement sustainable feed production practices in their communities, strengthening the resilience of the livestock sector across the region.
