The Agricultural Training Institute-XI in coordination with the Provincial Government of Davao del Norte and Davao de Oro, launched its School On-the-Air on Organic Vegetable Production (SOA-OVP) on May 13, 2022, with the aim to intensify the promotion of Organic Agriculture in the provinces through the use of radio and online platform as communication media.
With more than 500 farmer-enrollees, the SOA is being aired over DXNR 91.1 FM and Z Radio 88.5 FM every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, at 5:00 AM-6:00 AM. Aside from the radio broadcast, the listeners can also tune via livestream on their respective facebook pages.
The SOA-OVP course will run for 2.5 months starting May 13 to July 27, 2022, which covers four modules: Establishing Organic Nursery, Care and Maintenance, Advantages of Rotation Systems, and Harvesting and Storage. In addition, the One DA Approach and Philippine Standards for Organic Agriculture will also be included in the topics.
The farmcasters assigned in the two radio stations are the following: Ms. Adin B. Siaboc, PhD and Mr. Wilmer P. Turing (Z Radio 88.5 FM), and Mr. Jul-mar P. Liong and Mr. Francis Tolentino (DXNR 91.1 FM).
