The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center XI (ATI-RTC XI) equipped the Livestock Extension Workers of Davao region with the "Trash to Cash: Training on Animal Waste Management and Utilization" skills and knowledge on April 23-25, 2024, at PCU, Tagum City.
A total of 25 Livestock Extension Workers from various provinces participated in this comprehensive three-day activity. They learned about the intricacies of animal waste management, with 12 of them earning a total of eight CPD units for Agriculture. It highlights their commitment to professional growth.
During the training, participants were engaged in an expository farm tour at Don Bosco Training Center, located in Dahican, Mati City, Davao Oriental that provided them with hands-on learning experiences. Participants gained insights into Biogas Technology and the establishment of Biodigester Systems that are important for sustainable waste management and energy production, offering practical solutions that can be applied in their respective communities.
The training was further enriched by the expertise of Senior Agriculturist Omarbliss B. Dalam, PhD, and Ms. Cristine A. Perez from ATI-RTC XI, along with Technical Trainer Samuel L. Roena from Don Bosco Training Center. These resource persons shared their extensive knowledge and practical experiences, ensuring that the participants left with a thorough understanding of the subject matter.
The graduation ceremony was graced by the presence of Ms. Portia P. Salupan, External Relations Officer of Don Bosco Training Center. who encouraged the participants to work passionately for a food secure Davao Region and Philippines.
