Agricultural Training Institute-RTC XI represented by Center Director, Ms. Alicia Rose D. Nebreja, participated in the consultation organized by the World Bank Group and the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) on August 15, 2024 at Davao City.
The consultation sought valuable insights to shape the forthcoming Country Partnership Framework (CPF) for the Philippines as it gathers diverse group of stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, academics, private sector leaders, and youth representatives.
The discussions were centered on Mindanao's development priorities, addressing the region's unique challenges and opportunities such as the Mindanao 2020 Peace and Development Framework, with special attention to the CPF's strategic directions for 2025 to 2028. The consensus reached during the meeting highlighted the importance of aligning development efforts with this framework, with an emphasis on peacebuilding, economic growth, and social equity.
Priority areas identified included infrastructure development, sustainable agriculture, and improved access to education and healthcare. There was also a strong emphasis on the need to involve local communities in decision-making processes, ensuring that initiatives are relevant, effective, and resilient in the face of climate change. The insights gathered are expected to significantly shape future development initiatives in Mindanao under the Country Partnership Framework.
