Agricultural Training Institute XI trained 20 4H and RIC Coordinators and Members on "Developing Winning Project Proposals: A Training Course on Project Proposal Development" on September 18-20, 2024, at Davao del Norte State College, Panabo City.
The training equipped participants with skills in crafting project proposals that are both feasible and sustainable. Ms. Florie O. Dungan of ACPC XI was invited to share insights on their programs and financial support opportunities available for the organizations.
During the three-day training, participants engaged in hands-on workshops, group discussions, and lectures led by experts in project development and proposal writing.
Mr. Luis D. Bausa, the owner of Bausa Integrated Farm and Training Center, shared his knowledge on identifying community needs, designing appropriate interventions, and ensuring the projectsโ alignment with regional development goals.
The event was a resounding success, with participants expressing their gratitude for the practical knowledge and skills they gained. The proposed projects reflected the participantsโ understanding of the needs of their communities and their commitment to fostering development in their respective areas.
The training concluded with a presentation of the project proposals, where each group demonstrated a strong grasp of project development principles and the potential for their projects to positively impact their communities. These proposals are expected to receive support from both local and national agencies, further advancing the agricultural and entrepreneurial landscape of the Davao region.
With this, ATI-RTC XI continues its commitment to empowering rural youth and organizations through capacity-building initiatives that inspire innovation and sustainable growth.
The three Winning Proposals
The participants have crafted three innovative proposals such as Dehydrated Mixed Veggies, Establishment of Davao Region RIC Product Hub, and Quality Tilapia Production.
Dehydrated Mixed Veggies: This project focuses on addressing post-harvest losses by introducing a dehydration process for surplus vegetables. The goal is to create a marketable product that can be sold both locally and regionally, providing an additional source of income for farmers while reducing food waste.
Establishment of Davao Region RIC Product Hub: The proposal for a centralized product hub aims to strengthen the role of Rural Improvement Clubs (RICs) in the Davao region. The hub will serve as a venue for showcasing and selling RIC-produced goods, fostering collaboration, and providing members with greater market access and visibility.
Recognizing the growing demand for tilapia in the local market, this project aims to establish a sustainable and high-quality tilapia production facility. By introducing modern aquaculture techniques, the project aspires to boost production, enhance product quality, and contribute to food security in the region.
