The Agricultural Training Center - Central Office hosted a send-off ceremony at ATI RDEC, Elliptical Road, Diliman, Quezon City on July 11, 2024 to celebrate the Batch 4 interns of the Filipino Young Farmer Internship Program in Taiwan as they prepare to embark on their journey to undergo intensive training in modern agricultural techniques.
The Filipino Young Farmer Internship Program aims to empower young Filipino farmers to become leaders and entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector. Through this program, the interns will gain intensive exposure to modern agricultural and fisheries techniques, technologies, and strategies in Taiwan, providing them with valuable knowledge and skills to bring back home.
Ms. Lynn Leopoldo, Development Management Officer of ATI-RTC XI, accompanied the 5 representatives from Davao region among 50 young Filipino interns selected from across the country. Representing Region XI are:

The send-off ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, including Hon. Silvestre H. Bello III, Chairman and Resident Representative of MECO; H.E. Dustin T.S. Yang, Deputy Representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO); Asec Engr. Arnel V. De Mesa, Assistant Secretary for Special Concerns and Official Development Assistance (ODA) and DA Spokesperson; Ms. Nemielynn P. Pangilinan, OIC-Section Chief, PAD-YARBOMS; Ms. Antonieta J. Arceo, Director III, OIC-Chief, PAD; and Engr. Remelyn R. Recoter, MNSA, CESO III, Director IV.
In her welcome message, Director Remelyn R. Recoter mentioned that graduates of the internship program will receive after-training assistance of P50,000 each as starting capital. Additionally, three interns who present the best business proposals during a business pitching will each receive an additional P150,000. This initiative aims to support the agricultural ventures of young farmers and encourage their enthusiasm and creativity. The graduates will use the knowledge and skills gained during the internship to form the foundation of their proposals, incorporating modern approaches to agriculture.
The interns will depart on July 16, 2024. We wish our Batch 4 interns the best of luck in their journey and look forward to their contributions to the agricultural sector upon their return!
