Bees are the unsung heroes of agriculture, boosting crop production of our farmers through pollination. Thus, ATI-RTC XI joined on the "Bee Engaged with Youthโ organized by the Department of Agriculture XI to celebrate the 7th #WorldBeeDay at the Loyola Apiary Farm in Cagangohan, Panabo City on May 20, 2024.
Empowering the youth to champion bee conservation through lectures on Bee species, products, conservation practices and hands-on workshops provided practical insights into beekeeping and honey production.
Agriculture Regional Executive Director Macario D. Gonzaga shared that bees are indispensable contributor to economic, social, and ecological well-being of the agriculture industry.
Farmer Regional Executive Director Epifanio Loyola, Jr. emphasized the potential of beekeeping and apiculture, and highlighted the role of the youth to increase bee populations to ensure food security.
The event brings together key stakeholders such as government bodies and local organizations like the Philippine Council for Agriculture and Fishery, and Agricultural Training Institute XI represented by Mr. Richel E. Zamora, Training Specialist II,ย along with Ms. Lynn A. Leopoldo, the 4-H Focal Person, who brought interns to learn about beekeeping and engage with industry professionals.
The mission for bee conservation gains the youthโs optimism towards a thriving bee community. It's a call to unite and cultivate a buzz that echoes far beyond the fields.
