ATI-RTC XI Celebrates Farmers' and Fisherfolk's Month

The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center XI (ATI-RTC XI) successfully concluded the “Farmers' and Fisherfolk's Month” with a celebration that brought together partners and stakeholders, including farmers, youth, and ATI staff on May 24, 2024.

The celebration started with a welcome message from ATI-RTC XI Center Director, Ms. Alicia Rose Nebreja, who highlighted the culmination of a month-long series of activities dedicated to honoring the contributions of our farmers and fisherfolk.

“Kung may nakakain tayo ngayon, pasalamatan natin ang ating mga farmers (If we’ve eaten today, let’s thank our farmers),” Center Director Nebreja said.

Discussions about Bagong Pilipinas Townhall: ATI-RTC XI Programs, Services, and Accomplishments with Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Program (CFIDP) Overview were delivered by ATI Media Productions Officer II, Ms. Cristine Rosan, while the discussion about TechnoForum on Swine Production was delivered by an agripreneur, Mr. Archie Zamora. Participants received garden tools as tokens of gratitude for their active participation and enjoyed various friendly game competitions such as AgriQuiz, Farmers Attire, and Pig Haunting.

“Nalingaw gyud ko kay daghan ug activities (I really enjoyed it because there are a lot of activities),” Ms. Amethyst Joyce Alinsub, ATI Intern from TESDA KorPhil,  said with excitement.

ATI-RTC XI  Chief Information Officer, Ms. Lucille B. Carmarines delivered an inspiring closing message, expressing heartfelt thanks to all participants for their dedication and involvement, which significantly contributed to the event's success.

The Presidential Proclamation No. 33, series of 1989  by Former President Corazon Aquino designates May as Farmers’ and Fisherfolk’s Month. This year's theme, "Pagpupugay sa mga masisipag na magsasaka at mangingisda na katuwang tungo sa Masaganang Bagong Pilipinas."
