4-H Davao Region to Defend 2023 Overall Champion Title at the 71st 4-H National Farm Youth Convention 2024

As the defending overall champion of the 2023 Philippine National Farm Youth Convention, the winners of the 4-H Regional Youth Camp on April 3-5, 2024, are preparing for the 4-H Philippine National Farm Youth Convention on Siargao Island on June 18-21, 2024.

The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center XI (ATI-RTC XI) at Datu Abdul, Dadia, Panabo City became an avenue for the competitive yet friendly spirit of the 4-H Davao Region delegates. Themed "RELIVE the 4-H in YOUth: Re-energizing and Empowering 4-H Leaders in Valuable Agri-Fishery Engagements," the camp brought together young farmers, highlighting their role in advancing the agricultural sector. Dr. Melinda G. Rubellano, Supervising Agriculturist and YFC Focal Person of the Department of Agriculture-XI, and Ms. Assel M. Mapayo, Information Officer II at ATI-RTC XI, delivered talks emphasizing the Digital Farmers Program for Youth and entrepreneurial opportunities in agriculture.

The event commenced with a ceremony led by Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Councilor John Louie Senina, underscoring civic responsibilities among the 4-H members. The highlight of the second day was the Regional Excellent Achievers Awards (REAA), where participants from various 4-H Clubs showcased projects in categories such as Agri-Industry and Innovation, Equality and Inclusivity, Climate Action, and Physical Activity & Nutrition. Esteemed judges included Ms. Nilda A. Garcia, VLAP Regional V-President, and Mr. Marvelous Dainty C. Camilo from ATI-RTC XI.

Mayor Jose E. Relampagos graced the Candlelighting Ceremony, emphasizing the city's support for rural youth. He administered the oath to newly elected 4-H Regional Federation Officers, stressing leadership values. The camp also marked Filipino Food Month, celebrating local cuisine with dishes made from locally sourced produce.

The camp concluded with an Awarding Ceremony, where winners were announced to represent Davao Region at the 4-H Philippine National Farm Youth Convention on Siargao Island. Among the winners were:
