The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center XI (ATI-RTC XI) played a significant role in the recent CFIDP Information Caravan, Medical Mission, and Regional Coconut Day held at Nabunturan Comprehensive High School, Davao de Oro on August 19, 2024. ATI-RTC XI was represented by Center Director Miss Alicia Rose D. Nebreja, who highlighted the institute's ongoing commitment to supporting the coconut industry through training programs and financial assistance for farmers. This event brought together multiple government agencies and stakeholders to share vital information and services with coconut farmers and farmworkers in the region.

Miss Nebreja shared how ATI-RTC XI has been actively providing essential training and support to coconut farmers, focusing on enhancing their productivity and overall livelihoods. She emphasized the importance of continuous education and skill development, which are crucial in helping coconut farmers maximize their yields and contribute significantly to the region's economic growth. ATI-RTC XI's participation underscores its dedication to empowering farmers through knowledge-sharing and capacity-building initiatives.

Representatives from ATI-RTC XI's Information Services Section, Mx. Marvelous Dainty Camilo and Ms. Babyglace Lanit, also played a crucial role by distributing nearly 400 Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials to the farmers who attended. These materials were specifically designed to provide farmers with the latest information on best practices, innovations, and government programs that could enhance their farming techniques and business operations. The distribution of these materials was a key aspect of ATI-RTC XI's efforts to ensure that farmers have access to the necessary knowledge for success.

The CFIDP Information Caravan was supported by various CFIDP Implementing Agencies, including the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), ATI, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), Department of Agriculture-National Dairy Authority (DA-NDA), Department of Agriculture-High Value Crops Development Program (DA-HVCDP), Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PHILMECH), Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP), Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). These agencies collectively worked to disseminate valuable information about government programs and projects that benefit coconut farmers and their families, helping them to thrive in the industry.

A key highlight of the event was the medical and dental mission organized in collaboration with the 10th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army and the Philippine Dental Association-North Davao Chapter. The mission provided free medical and dental checkups to 479 residents from various municipalities in Davao de Oro, addressing the immediate healthcare needs of the community. This initiative, spearheaded by Col. Gerry Besana, Deputy Brigade Commander of the 1001st Brigade, also underscored the importance of maintaining the well-being of the farmers and their families, who are vital contributors to the region's agricultural sector.

The Regional Coconut Day celebration also featured a Coco Bazaar, which showcased a wide array of coconut-based products, both food and non-food items. This bazaar, organized by PCA Region XI, headed by Regional Manager III Juvy T. Alayon, highlighted the versatility and economic potential of coconut by-products. The Nabunturan Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative (NAFAMCO) participated actively in the event, and was recognized for its contributions, including its involvement in the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP). The event concluded with the awarding of plaques and cash prizes to outstanding coconut farmers and organizations, further emphasizing the importance of recognizing and supporting the contributions of those who drive the coconut industry forward.
