Organic Farming Scholarship - Farm Partners

The Youth Scholarship Grant on Organic Farming is a 21-month internship program for the youth that aims to fully imbibe the "life of a farmer" and organic practices. It comprises a nine-month schooling and on-site training for the farm partners, and a one-year hands-on approach and implementation of the proposed organic enterprise - Infusing in them the heart and mind of a farmer. The ATI-RTC XI is open for applications to fill out slots for 5 Farm Partners and 10 Trainees.

 

Eligibility Criteria for Farm Partners

1. Farm operator/owner of a certified organic or chemical-free farm, preferably an LSA-certified farm

2. Must be in operation for at least one (1) year

3. Has farm activities within the value chain either production, value-adding, processing, or marketing

4. Has basic farm tools, equipment, or facilities needed for its operation

5. Has accommodation facility for at least two (2) trainees

6. Has an internship program plan from March to November within a year

7. With good community standing and has proven derogatory record

8. Farm area is not part of military-identified conflict zones

9. Others (see Document Requirement Number  11, 12 & 13)

 

Documentary Requirement

1. Notarized Affidavit as owner/operator of an organic and/or chemical-free farm

2. Learning site for Agriculture (LSA) certification, if applicable

3. Farm Journal

4. Financial statement for the previous year's operation

5. Farm layout (attachment to the application form)

6. Photos of the farm and its facilities including accommodation areas

7. List and biodata of resource persons/trainers

8. Internship Program Plan Design including performance evaluation and post-training internship assessment

8. At least two (2) recommendations letters from a community leader (e.g. barangay captain, parish priest, school principal, civil society organization, farmers' cooperative, or association)

9. Certification from the respective AFP infantry division

10. Letter of intent addressed to the DA-ATI Regional Director

11. Bank account details, preferably LBP if available
