The Binhi ng Pag-asa Program (BPP, being implemented by Department of Agriculture - Agricultural Training Institute (DA-ATI) in collaboration with the Office of Senator Grace Poe, aims to empower the youth by strengthening their leadership skills and values as well as enabling them to become agripreneurs through the provision of agriculture and fisheries starter kits.
On December 14, 2022 the DA-ATI Region XII have successfully delivered 20 out of the 20 targets of extension support to the youth beneficiaries from the Province of Cotabato.
25 BPP Graduates from Municipality of Pigcawayan have received open mini greenhouse with UV plastic 150 microns and 50% net shade (1.5m x 2m x 1.7m), 1 pc corrigated steel rack (10mm), 4 grower boxes (15 in x 17 in with 14 holes) 1 set of 1L nutrient concentrated solution, clips for UV and shade net, 1000 pcs of styrocups with holes, 1 sack of coco coir and 1 pack premium seeds of lettuce.
Meanwhile, the purpose of providing agri-fisheries starter kits is to increase the participation of the youth in the development and promotion of the agriculture and fisheries sector towards improved food productivity.
Present in the distribution of starter kits were Senior Agriculturist and 4-H Coordinator of Pigcawayan Ms Marites E. Londres, Municipal Administrative Mr Silvino Q. Tejada, PMO I Gladys Hazel Cafe, Inspector Engr Alvin U. Palma and BPP Outstanding Graduate Ms Trishia Monique Palomero.
