Tantangan, South Cotabato – The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center XII (ATI-RTC XII), through its Livestock Program, conducted a comprehensive briefing for the Swine Industry Recovery Project (SIRP) with the Association of Learning Sites for Agriculture (ALSA) Dose, the qualified project recipient. The activity took place on January 30, 2025, at ATI-RTC XII, San Felipe, Tantangan, South Cotabato.

Representing ALSA Dose were Mr. Miko Sueno, on behalf of ALSA Dose President Ms. Mechelle P. Sueno, and Mr. Edilberto Serag, Vice President of the Association. The ATI-RTC XII delegation included Ms. Jey Ann N. Magana, Administrative Officer IV; Mr. John Mikel D. Ternida, Accountant I; Mr. Errol Chris A. Laspiñas, Agriculturist I and Livestock Focal Person; and Ms. Kissciel Arao-Arao, Livestock Technical Staff.

The SIRP aims to complement the INSPIRE Project by accelerating the recovery of the swine industry, increasing breeder populations, enhancing swine livelihood clusters, and fostering the development of the Philippine native pig sector. A key focus of the project is the implementation of stringent biosecurity measures to combat threats such as the African Swine Fever (ASF).

This briefing session served as an important platform for both ATI-RTC XII and ALSA Dose to align their roles, responsibilities, and strategies to ensure the effective implementation of the project, contributing to the sustainable growth of the swine industry in the region.
