TANTANGAN, SOUTH COTABATO — In celebration of High Value Crops Week this April, the Agricultural Training Institute - Regional Training Center XII (ATI-RTC XII), in partnership with the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office XII, conducted a meaningful distribution activity on April 25, 2025, in Brgy. San Felipe, Tantangan, South Cotabato. The initiative, led by ATI-RTC XII’s High Value Crops Development (HVCD) Program, aims to promote the cultivation of high value crops and support local food production efforts.

During the activity, residents received free assorted vegetable seeds, fruit tree seedlings, farm tools, and information, education, and communication (IEC) materials to encourage home and community gardening. These efforts are part of the government’s strategy to foster food security, improve nutrition, and enhance livelihoods through sustainable agriculture.

ATI-RTC XII OIC Center Director Dr. Jessie V. Beldia delivered an inspirational message, urging beneficiaries to make the most of the planting materials and tools. He emphasized the importance of cultivating high value crops not only for household sustenance but also as a potential source of income.

Participants from other ongoing trainings at the center also joined the celebration and were able to take part in the seed and tool distribution. The activity was smoothly coordinated by HVCD Focal Person Ms. Mercedita G. Aglibot, with the support of Alternate Focal Ms. Gladys Hazel E. Cafe.

This celebration reflects ATI-RTC XII’s continued commitment to empowering communities through inclusive and sustainable agricultural development.
