The 3rd National Kabataang Organic Agriculture (OA) Quiz Bee is in full swing today, November 14, 2024, at the Axiaa Hotel, Quezon City. The event is a key highlight of the 10th Organic Agriculture Month, celebrating the theme: “Kabuhayang O.A. Kinabukasang O.K., PGS Pinalakas para sa Bagong Pilipinas.”
Young agricultural enthusiasts who excelled in regional competitions earlier this month are now competing on the national stage, showcasing their knowledge and passion for organic agriculture.
Organized by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in collaboration with partners from the Department of Agriculture’s National Organic Agriculture Program (NOAP), Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards (BAFS), Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), and Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI), the quiz bee underscores the vital role of youth in advancing sustainable farming practices.
Representing Region XII is Ms. Andrea G. Melgar, a 4th-year BS Agriculture student majoring in Animal Science from Mindanao State University-General Santos City. Her dedication and expertise have earned her the honor of showcasing her region’s commitment to organic agriculture on a national platform.
The event celebrates the collective efforts of youth, educators, and institutions in promoting organic agriculture as a cornerstone of sustainable development for a resilient and food-secure future.
