BAYBAY CITY, Leyte – Two staff members from ATI-RTC XII participated in the 2024 National Philippine Good Agricultural Practices (PhilGAP) Summit, held from October 8-11, 2024, in this city.
Organized by the Bureau of Plant Industry, the summit is a significant event focused on promoting sustainable agricultural practices across the Philippines. It provides a vital platform for farmers, agribusiness professionals, researchers, and policymakers to engage in meaningful discussions, share innovative practices, and collaborate on initiatives that enhance Good Agricultural Practices (GAP). The summit emphasizes improving agricultural productivity, ensuring food safety, and delivering high-quality produce.
Representatives from various ATI Regional Training Centers and the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Offices (DA-RFOs) from across the country attended, highlighting a collective commitment to advancing sustainable agriculture in the region.
The summit not only addressed current trends and challenges within the agricultural sector but also fostered essential partnerships critical for ensuring food security and promoting sustainable farming practices in the Philippines.
