KORONADAL CITY- The Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office XII, along with its attached bureaus and agencies, holds the 1st Regional Food Safety Forum on September 13, 2022.
Regional Agri-Fishery Chairman Mr. Angel Cervantes welcomed the guests and participants. In his message, he emphasized that despite the different beliefs and approaches of the local food producers, the common goal is to really produce nutritious and healthy food in a sufficient and cost-effective manner.
“This is a historic event since this is the very first Regional Food Safety Forum. I hope that through this forum, we can strengthen our advocacies to attain our desire of continuous food safety and sufficiency towards masaganang ani at mataas na kita”, he said.
Meanwhile, the event highlights the exhibit and product expo participated by different certified and accredited food-industry practitioners, private companies and farmer’s cooperatives and associations. Among the products for sale are different value-added products, organic rice, fresh fruits and herbs.
Veterinarian III of the DA-RFO XII Regulatory Division Niel C. Doton, DVM, briefed the participants on the Rationale of the Activity and what will transpire for the whole-day event. She also emphasized what is food safety and its importance. Technical presentation and updates, on the other hand, will be discussed and presented by different DA attached agencies and bureaus.
