Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat - July 8, 2024, the Masaganang Coco-Buhayan: Radyo Eskwela on Coconut Production officially launched in Sultan Kudarat, bringing innovative learning directly to local coconut farmers. The ceremony was led by ATI-RTC XII OIC-Center Director Shirley L. Beldia, in partnership with the Philippine Coconut Authority-Region XII, represented by PCA-Sultan Kudarat Division Chief Greg Arellaga.
The program aims to provide farmers with the latest knowledge and technology in coconut farming to increase productivity and boost their income. Over 600 students from select towns in Sultan Kudarat, including Lebak, Kalamansig, Bagumbayan, Esperanza, Isulan, President Quirino, and Columbio, will participate. They will gain insights into modern farming techniques, tree health maintenance, and entrepreneurial strategies to develop prosperous agriculture and a thriving local economy.
Key topics will cover innovative coconut production technology, farm management, and market opportunities. The program also includes training on leadership and organizational skills to support farmers in building sustainable and successful agricultural ventures.
This initiative by ATI-RTC XII aims to uplift the livelihood of coconut farmers through education and innovation, contributing to growth in both their communities and the broader agricultural sector in the Philippines.
